free-of-charge. These investments are of great value to National Cancer
Society of Malaysia. Much of our work is funded by corporate supporters as
the result of a philanthropic relationship.

What Your Money Supports
The costs that are borne to carry out our services
*RM5 - Pays for the average cost cancer educational material provided for one
visitor to the Resource & Wellness
Centre
RM15 pays for the average cost of cancer support material provided to a child
newly diagnosed with cancer.
*RM20 - Will cover the cost of providing support services for an hour at the
Resource & Wellness Centre
*RM50 - Pays for a day's accommodation of a child cancer survivor and the
caregiver at NCSM's Children's Home of
Hope
*RM80 - Will pay for ONE mammogram & pap smear for an underpriviledged
lady identified under our Sponsored Screening Programme conducted at the Women's Cancer Detection & Breast
Clinic
*RM150 - Pays for the cost of 100 free clinical breast examinations for women
during cancer awareness events
RM500 pays for a week of complementary therapies provided free of charge to
individuals with cancer (e.g. qi gong, yoga, reiki)
RM1000 a month pays for the resources of a cancer support group
RM5000 pays for the publication cost of a new cancer book in one language for
those newly diagnosed with cancer
*RM10 000 *- Would pay the drug bill for one week at the Nuclear Medicine Centre
*RM50 000 *- Would pay for a cancer awareness exhibition and programme
*RM100 000 would cover the annual cost for a cancer educational
programme in schools in one state.
RM 2.5 million is the average cost of a machine at NCSM used to detect or
treat cancer
*RM4 million Will cover the cost of running NCSM's 5 centres for one
year.
